Outings with Kikuchi. Asakusa Edition.

Outings with Kikuchi. Asakusa Edition.

In Asakusa, there's a magnificent temple called Sensoji Temple, which I think is a famous tourist spot among foreigners.
We go there occasionally, but now there are a lot of foreign visitors, and the atmosphere has changed completely.
But the basic things to do in Asakusa remain the same: draw your fortune, eat traditional yakisoba at a food stall, etc.
The traditional yakisoba at this food stall is delicious.
It might not actually be that tasty, but the atmosphere and setting make it even more delicious. Haha

That's what's so great about food stalls.

And Asakusa has always had three pillars: Sensoji Temple, downtown food, and bars. Haha
There's also a small amusement park called Hanayashiki.
You'll probably find memories there, too.
I used to go there a lot as a kid.
It's truly a place full of memories.

Also, Asakusa's downtown food ranges from cheap and delicious to high-end and delicious.
This time, I went for a high-end gourmet meal: eel.
Watching YouTube, I've seen eel dishes all over the world, but when it comes to eel, I'm almost certain that Japanese eel is the best in the world.
If anyone out there has an equally impressive eel dish, please let me know.
The restaurant I visited this time was Yakko.
Apparently the restaurant was already in business as early as 1852.
It's a restaurant with an incredible history.
Two must-try Japanese eel dishes are unagimaki and unaju.

Grilled to perfection in a sweet and salty sauce, the eel is fluffy and odorless.
Once you try the elegant flavor of the eel fat and the delicious sauce, you won't be able to put your chopsticks down. Haha.
This may be the Japanese dish I most want people all over the world to try.
It's really just so delicious.
However, there are many eel restaurants in Japan.
To be honest, I'd say only 10-20% of restaurants serve truly delicious eel.
When you visit Japan, please do thorough research and eat eel at a truly delicious restaurant.
You'll be amazed when you try truly delicious eel.
Bad eel has an odor, so if it smells bad, the restaurant isn't very good and you have no choice but to give up. Haha
If you ever come to Japan, please be sure to try some delicious eel.
It's truly surprisingly delicious.
