One of the reasons for adopting organic cotton is one of Levi's environmentally friendly product development, which is common to all developments.
This is a denim jacket announced in 1953 as a successor model to the 1st model with lot number 507XX, commonly known as "2nd".
The 1953 Type II Jacket was created in 1936 with a slight modification to the iconic Levi's Type I Jacket.
Made from durable selvedge denim, denim jackets have long been regarded as a symbol of American workers.
The fabric used in Levi's Vintage Closing is made by Kaihara, a leading denim manufacturer in Japan.
It is a special fabric that realistically reproduces the texture of crude denim manufactured by Cone Mills at that time with Japanese high technology. The 507XX uses heavy ounce denim with less fluff.
Denim woven by an old-fashioned shuttle machine has a width of about 27 to 29 inches and is characterized by being sewn (red selvedge) with red thread at both ends. Since the product is made using the dough to the end, selvedge can be seen on the back of the placket, and details called red ears are created.
This denim retains the original unevenness of cotton thread, so it is one of the charms that the unique texture increases by wearing it.
In addition to the red tab with the capital "E", the two-horse leather patch that represents the quality of denim, the label with "XX", the 1st box-shaped rugged appearance, and the two front pleats and box stitches on the placket are inherited. The chest pocket has been changed to a double flap pocket, the cinch back has been changed to a button adjuster, and outward action pleats and cover rivets have been changed.
The fabric used is the woven as-is fabric (Kibata) that has not been rearranged, which can be said to be the origin of denim. It is dyed with dark pure indigo.
The denim fabric of the time is faithfully reproduced, and the details from sewing thread to rivets and buttons are also faithfully reproduced.
The silhouette is an authentic style.
There is a moderate amount of space in the width of the body and armholes, and it can be matched to any style such as T-shirts and sweatshirts.
