[BUZZ RICKSON'S "BR11703 " 13.6oz WW2 BLUE DENIM BLOUSE]
The US Navy adopted a denim parka as a gas protection measure in the early 1940s. It has a loose silhouette, allowing it to be put on and taken off as a pullover. The loops around the neck of the hood are used to hook gas mask filter containers, and the straps on both sides secure the gas mask hose. The front placket has a complex triple-layered structure to prevent gas from entering, and a cord runs through the hood to seal the gas mask after donning it. This parka was worn as a set with overall trousers, rubber gloves, and rubber overshoes.
The original is a bit threatening, but if you look at it simply as a fashion item, it's a stylish denim parka-style jacket. The moderate looseness is in line with the current era and makes it stylish to wear. You can also enjoy the unique aging process that only denim can undergo.
Please also enjoy the last photo of the model (Kikuchi) wearing the surreal hoodie. (lol) I don't think anyone would actually wear a hoodie like that, though (lol)
