[GREENEBAUM OVERALLS (WARE HOUSE) "2214" 1880 HEAVY LEATHER BOUND BROWSE]

GREENEBAUM BROTHERS
It was 150 years ago, on May 20, 1873, that Levi Strauss & Co. obtained a patent for "a method of using metal rivets to reinforce pockets on clothing."

A year later, on August 25, 1874, Greenebaum Brothers, also based in San Francisco, obtained a patent for reinforcing stress points with leather.

Until the rivet patent expired in the 1890s, Greenebaum Brothers' pants were supplied as durable workwear from the West to the Midwest, where mineral resource mining was booming.

Greenebaum Brothers will celebrate their 150th anniversary in 2024. They will create their original design, "Leatherbound Overalls," created in the 19th century, by recreating their original "Two by One Denim," which stands out from the rest.

The fabric is made of Warehouse's original selvedge light-ounce denim, woven on an old-fashioned power loom using 7.5-count cotton warp and 16-count cotton weft.
This light-ounce denim is based on the vintage of the time.

It is a short-type "blouse" that is not an exaggeration to say is the origin of the "G-jacket".
The straight-sewn shoulder line means that the sleeve seam is "zero", so the shoulders naturally drop when worn and the fabric gathers like an accordion under the armpit.
This is also a characteristic of the fading of the color from that era.

The symmetrical pockets are also rare for workwear of this era.
The front placket with buttonholes has vertical holes (shirt holes) on the body and horizontal holes only on the obi.
Like the pullover, the silhouette matches perfectly with Greenebaum's denim, so you can wear it with a unique drape.

It's a simple item that looks simpler than it looks, so you can wear it with any pants.
This denim blouse is a delight because of its design from over 100 years ago.
