LEVI’S VINTAGE CLOTHING is a collection that carefully reproduces the fit, fabric, and details that were loved in bygone eras while capturing the spirit and history of American workwear. Based on the precious archives of over 20,000 items stored at Levi’s San Francisco headquarters, we offer timeless items that revive iconic reproduction items that represent each era and Levi’s precious history.
The fabric of LVC has been renewed. It is made of organic cotton.
One of the reasons for adopting organic cotton is one of the product developments that Levi’s considers and takes into consideration the environment, and it is common to all developments.
From this season, the 1961 TYPEIII 557 TRUCKER JACKET, a faithful reproduction of the 1961 trucker jacket, will be newly introduced.
In 1961, President John F. Kennedy declared that he would send a man to the moon. On the ground, the president launched the “President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women” with First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt as chairperson. Buses of the Freedom Riders movement to spread the civil rights movement also headed south.
The new jackets that were born at that time were slimmer to fit the changing times, and featured red tabs with big "E"s on both sides, dark copper shank buttons, side waist adjusters, and the now iconic pointed pocket flaps that had never been seen before.
The fabric used in Levi's Vintage Clothing is made by Kaihara, a leading denim manufacturer in Japan.
This special fabric realistically reproduces the rough denim texture produced by Cone Mills at the time using Japan's high technology. The 506XX uses slightly lighter ounce denim with less pilling.
The denim woven on an old shuttle machine is about 27 to 29 inches wide, and both ends are sewn with red thread (red selvedge). The product is made using the entire fabric to the edge, so selvedge can be seen on the back of the placket, creating a detail called red selvedge.
This denim retains the original unevenness of the cotton thread, so one of its charms is that the more you wear it, the more unique the texture will become.
The silhouette is authentic.
The body width and armholes are slightly narrower, so it can be matched with any style, such as T-shirts and sweatshirts.

- Jeans may have creases. These may be creases from storage at our store, or from storage by the manufacturer, but in any case, creases from folding are not defective products but genuine products, so please understand that we cannot accept exchanges or returns.
- Denim may transfer color, so please be careful when washing and what you wear with it.
