[ONI DENIM "01507L-Ishikawadai" 15oz Ishikawadai Denim Type 1 Jacket]
This denim is woven on a 1950s shuttle loom using yarn spun on the Ishikawadai ring spinning frame, said to be the oldest spinning frame still in operation in Japan.
A Japanese-made ring spinning frame named "Ishikawadai" was manufactured in 1953.
The manufacturer has no records of any older machines, making it the oldest spinning frame still in operation in Japan.
The Ishikawadai spins at a slower speed, about one-third the speed of the latest ring spinning frames.
While this results in lower productivity, it places less stress on the cotton, resulting in a natural, almost hand-spun look (unevenness).
This is a feature unique to Ishikawadai.
The denim fabric for this product was woven on a 1950 shuttle loom using yarn spun from a 6-count straight yarn on the Ishikawadai.
The indigo warp thread is dyed with the same green cast dye as Secret Denim, giving it a unique, slightly greenish hue and a one-of-a-kind look.
This model is based on the first type.
It features double pleats and box stitching on the front, a chest pocket on the left side only, exposed copper rivets, and a cinch back for an adjustable fit.
The moderately tight silhouette allows you to wear it without looking sloppy.
