This sweatshirt hoodie was created in collaboration with a factory in Wakayama Prefecture, the only place in the world still operating the loopwheel knitting machines that were used to knit vintage sweatshirts, preserving the quality of that time.
The fabric is slowly knitted on this valuable loopwheel knitting machine, suspended from the ceiling. The machine and thread are knitted slowly, utilizing the weight of the thread and fabric itself, without applying any unnecessary tension to the fabric. This slow process creates a unique texture with just the right amount of unevenness, as if air were knitted into the fabric.
With a focus on vintage specifications such as twin-needle single-stroke stitching and circular knit needle-punched ribbing, this piece is as if a product from that time has been brought back to life in the present day.
Though the fabric is thick, it is incredibly soft and fluffy to wear, and many people become addicted to it after just one try.
Furthermore, the silhouette is not oversized like vintage sweatshirts, but is tailored to modern needs, making it suitable for everyday wear.
The ribbing and pockets have a strong presence, and the design is simple yet meticulous. This item is soft and warm when worn as an inner layer, and the fabric has a presence when worn as a top layer.
