The warp threads are made using yarn dyed using the Awa Indigo dyeing method, a traditional Japanese technique that is renowned around the world.
Because it is impossible to dye a deep color in one go, artisans repeat the processes of dyeing, squeezing, and drying over and over again.
By repeating this careful process, a deep, rich color is gradually created.
The weft threads are made using hand-dyed yarn dyed with persimmon tannins.
Hand-dyed yarns are thicker than machine-dyed yarns, and create a unique unevenness, resulting in a fabric with an uneven texture that sets them apart from regular 15oz denim.
