[STUDIO D'ARTISAN "SD-4101" GL3 1st Type Denim Jacket]
This is a first-type denim jacket made with the GL-3.
Manufactured half a century ago by Toyota Industries, the GL3 was one of Japan's earliest power looms, and for this reason, no replacement parts exist.
As a result, the only way to weave it is to salvage parts from discarded machines of the same model and replace broken components on other machines still in operation.
It is a labor-intensive, inefficient loom that requires extremely high maintenance, and can only weave five meters per hour.
However, denim woven on the GL3 retains the ruggedness and roughness of denim from half a century ago, making it a one-of-a-kind loom that is capable of expressing denim as workwear.
D'Artisan's new classic GL3 series is denim made to D'Artisan's original recipes in every aspect, from the uneven yarn shape, thread count, rope-dyed color, and number of stitches both vertically and horizontally, to maximize the characteristics of the GL3.
It has a unique unevenness and roughness that cannot be achieved with modern denim, which is produced efficiently and uniformly.
We are confident in this product, which was finally completed after repeated weaving trials without any compromise.
