This is the latest work to be reprinted as a special edition for spring 2024, based on newly acquired vintage.
Perhaps due to the habits of the craftsmen of the time, the embroidery is meticulously layered with a finer stitch width than usual, and the characteristic vintage embroidery is perfectly reproduced, down to the stitch width and needle foot.
In honor of the zodiac sign of 2024, the dragon, the Year of the Dragon collection is a reprint of dragon embroidery selected from a large number of vintage sukajans.
This item is a reprint of an extremely rare vintage piece made in the early 1950s with dragon patterns on both sides, and features gorgeous embroidery that is suitable for the special edition of the Year of the Dragon.
The surface of the blue acetate fabric has a pattern that combines Japanese landscapes and dragons reminiscent of sunny skies. The design is extremely rare, with a magnificent dragon composition that uses many threads of similar colors to encircle the five-storied pagoda and Mt. Fuji in the background. An eagle and a tiger are drawn on the chest, and the back has a luxurious pattern that includes the three major motifs of the eagle, tiger, and dragon, and even a landscape pattern. The green and red lined ribs contrast with the color scheme of the body, giving it a vintage charm.
On the other hand, the reversible side features an impressive composition that makes it look like a dragon is approaching you. The waves, clouds, etc. are made of brightly colored threads, and the ribs have a red-based color scheme, making the accent colors stand out against the black and silver body. The embroidery on the chest has the same eagle and tiger designs as the front, but if you look closely you can see that the color threads are used differently.
This is because at the time, both sides were made using the same ``embroidery mold,'' and you can see the craftsman's commitment to changing the color to match the color of the fabric, even if the design was the same.

This special edition is a reproduction of carefully selected masterpieces from Taylor Toyo's collection with great attention to detail.
In addition to the detailed designs drawn with horizontal embroidery, the acetate fabric is adjusted to create a vintage-like finish, and the wool ribs are knitted one by one using an old-fashioned flat knitting machine.
For the reversible zippers, we restarted the fastening machines that were used more than 50 years ago and recreated the same hand-bending ones that were used back then.
Using the label of Kosho Shokai, the predecessor of Taylor Toyo, the finish is reminiscent of the heyday of vintage skajans.
*This product is extremely delicate due to the characteristics of the material. The fabric part is susceptible to friction and slipping, and is also prone to fading and discoloration due to color burns.
The embroidery part is reproduced using old-fashioned embroidery techniques, so the stitching is delicate and delicate, so please be careful not to get it caught.
Please avoid washing by hand or using a washing machine as this may cause the product to lose its shape, fade, fray, or shrink.
