[WAREHOUSE "3063" 1930’s WPA One Pocket Pullover Shirts]
This pullover shirt is made from 8x10 count selvedge light-ounce denim.
WPA SEWING ROOM: As part of the WPA's large-scale program, workwear for blue-collar workers was produced.
It was made in sewing rooms called "sewing rooms," and clothing was affixed with a tag that read "Made by W.P.A. Sewing Rooms, Not to Be Sold."
In each state that had a sewing room, seamstresses took great pride in their work and declared that the initials "W.P.A." stood for "We Patch Anything."
Sometimes, military clothing was repaired and adapted to create new clothing, which was worn by WPA workers.
The designs and sewing specifications of WPA clothing are truly intriguing.
The designs were based on military workwear, with many modifications incorporated.
As the name "SEWING ROOM" suggests, the sewing method is a "lock stitch" rather than the backstitch that was common in workwear at the time.
The interior exudes the warmth of the idyllic period before the military demand began to be generated in factories during World War II.
