In 1880, a time before the terms "jeans" or "denim" even existed, the "waistoverall," worn with suspenders, originated from workwear called overalls.
This time, BIG JOHN has created such a "waistoverall."
The material used is American Sea Island cotton, an extremely rare type of cotton among the world's cottons.
This high-quality Sea Island cotton has been a supplier to the British Royal Family since the late 16th century and boasts the world's finest fiber length and fineness.
By using over 70% of Sea Island cotton waste, the fabric is upcycled and blended to recreate the slubby and rugged feel seen in the early days of denim in the 1880s. The result is a unique textured feel, a supple and high-quality touch, and a deep, lustrous sheen—its greatest appeal.
This is a pair of jeans that allows you to enjoy rare vintage details such as the silhouette, suspender buttons, and cinch back. In the 1880s, the fabric used for work clothes was only about 9oz thick, but Big John has recreated that fabric feel with a substantial texture through their own unique perspective.
Silhouette
These wide-leg straight jeans have a high rise and a generous fit.
While they have a relaxed fit around the waist and a wide silhouette, they are a wide model with a well-defined taper.
