The M-65 field jacket came with a dedicated liner designed to enhance cold-weather protection. By quilting the insulation between layers of fabric, this liner achieved significant improvements in both lightness and heat retention compared to earlier versions made from materials like alpaca or wool. The quilting also serves to prevent the insulation from shifting out of place. Buttonholes are positioned at the neck, cuffs, and front opening, allowing the liner to be secured to buttons located inside the field jacket. While standard M-65 liners are designed exclusively to attach to the jacket's interior—making them unsuitable for standalone wear—this version features a modified, original design that incorporates elements like a zipper, enabling it to be worn on its own. It functions perfectly as a liner but is also stylish enough to be worn casually as a standalone piece, offering great versatility for various outfits.
