[BUZZ RICKSON'S、BR15995、TANKERS SLASH POCKET BUZZ RICKSON'S MEG.CO. 90th BOMB .GP. JOLLY ROGERS]

Commonly known as the "Tanker Jacket," this garment was originally developed as winter combat wear for armored units.
During the European campaign, shortages of winter gear led to its use not only by armored troops but also as a flight jacket; however, following the 1943 adoption of the versatile M1943 field jacket, the Winter Combat Jacket saw only limited issue.
The outer shell is made of water- and wind-resistant cotton twill.
It features a 26-ounce wool lining, with double-needle lap-seam construction at the underarms and sleeves.
Pleats on both sides of the back ensure freedom of movement for the arms.
Two versions of this jacket exist: an early model with patch pockets and a later model with single-welt pockets.
Thanks to its wool blanket lining, it offers superior warmth—surpassing its appearance—making it a reliable choice for cold winters.
With its simple design, excellent mobility, and great compatibility with jeans, it is a stylish, quintessential military item.
This specific model represents the 90th Bombardment Group, a unit under the Fifth Air Force known by the nickname "Jolly Rogers."
Formed in 1942, the group flew B-24 Liberators featuring a skull-and-crossbones—the pirate "Jolly Roger" emblem—painted on their vertical stabilizers.
The group comprised four squadrons, each distinguished by a color-coded Jolly Roger patch: blue for the 319th, red for the 320th, green for the 321st, and black for the 400th—a unique feature among the many squadron patches in existence.
The back of the jacket is hand-painted with the unit's nickname and the emblem that appeared on the aircraft's tail.
The term "Ken's Men" refers to the subordinates of General Kenney, the commander of the Fifth Air Force. This is a truly special piece, featuring hand-painted leather patches of pirates and the Jolly Roger on the front.
