The Black MA-1 was first produced by Buzz Rickson's to mark the brand's 10th anniversary.
The jacket appears in the novel *Pattern Recognition* by the world-renowned author William Gibson, where the protagonist wears a "Buzz Rickson’s Black MA-1."
Stepping out of the pages of the novel, the actual Buzz Rickson’s Black MA-1 became a reality.
While the MA-1—officially adopted by the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s—was originally produced in Sage Green, this version is rendered in black. Yet, it remains an authentic piece, utilizing military-specification parts and materials that adhere to strict standards.
A jacket of this kind exists nowhere else but in the William Gibson Collection.
Consequently, it has garnered significant attention and acclaim from enthusiasts who value authenticity.
