[BUZZ RICKSON'S "BR25996" BLUE CHAMBRAY WORK SHIRT]
This is the off-white version of Buzz Rickson's classic chambray shirt.
The chambray shirt adopted by the U.S. Navy is a utility shirt with a long history of service, issued continuously from the 1930s to the present day.
This particular model is a reproduction of the shirt adopted in the 1950s.
While the design and specifications evolved over time, the version adopted in the 1950s—like the original issue—retains the authentic details of a bygone era, including side gussets at the hem, a collar with a collar stand, and a front placket.
The chambray fabric from this era features a loose weave; repeated washing causes it to shrink and develop a distinctive texture.
