The 1946 model is an extremely rare model, produced for only one year.
It stands in the transitional period from the wartime model to the 1947 model, considered the perfected version, and has been passed down as a model from that transitional era.
In 1993, Ground-Alls first undertook the reproduction of the 1946 model, a transitional model.
This time, we have reconstructed the 1946 model once again.
Denim
In recreating this garment, we meticulously examined all existing documents and original pieces to create this reproduction.
A new, original denim fabric was designed specifically for the G-501XX46.
From the thread count to the warp and weft counts, we thoroughly examined original pieces from that era to faithfully reproduce the fabric structure of the 1946 model.
This product uses fabric that replicates the texture of vintage jeans from the 1940s.
To allow you to experience this look from an early stage, the indigo is intentionally oxidized during the rope dyeing process.
Color fading and transfer may occur due to friction and moisture, but these changes that appear with wear are characteristic of jeans from this era.
Silhouette
The silhouette is a straight-leg model inspired by the 1940s.
With a slightly higher rise, it's a straight-leg style that falls somewhere between a relaxed wartime model and an XX model.
Details
Features stamped iron buttons.
Stamped iron buttons are placed on the front and inside the fly. Both are two-pronged, reproducing the structure seen in genuine late 1940s garments.
Reproduces the transitional rivet configuration of the 1940s, a period characterized by a mix of unique features.
The watch pocket uses unstamped rivets, commonly seen at the time. Stamped copper rivets are used on both ends of the front pockets.
Of course, it features hidden rivets, using two-pronged iron rivets. Even the internal structure, invisible from the outside, reproduces the specifications of the time.
The UFO-shaped receiving rivets are also made of iron, employing a structure and material that accurately receives the two-pronged rivets.
All sewing threads are 100% cotton, with thread counts of 6, 8, 20, and 30 used depending on the area.
The color scheme is a rainbow combination of yellow and orange threads, reproducing the unique unevenness and texture of vintage garments.
Edge stitching is an advanced sewing technique that precisely sews along the very edge of the fabric.
Finished with a 4mm thickness, following the specifications of the time, rather than the modern standard of 1-2.5mm.
As a remnant of the wartime model, the fly end is left unfinished, intentionally inheriting the simplified details that continued from the WWII era.
The stitching on the back pocket changed from painted stitching to arcuate stitching after wartime material controls were lifted.
This is a detail that symbolizes the early postwar period.
During the wartime material control period, various fabrics were used, but with the end of controls, it returned to the usual unbleached 100% cotton twill.
A red tab made of rayon material dyed red, just like the original, is used.
The chain stitch whiskers, which Ground-Alls started as a joke at the time, are proof that it was made using traditional processes.

The model is 173cm tall and weighs 64kg, and is wearing a size 30 in raw denim.
However, since it shrinks after washing, you would actually need a size 31 or 32.

The jeans will shrink when soaked in water, so they will shrink when washed.
When we shrunk them in our store using a dryer, the waist shrunk by about 4-5cm and the length by 7-8cm.
These are only estimates, but please use them as a reference.

We lay it on the floor, remove any wrinkles, and measure the fabric flat.
