denim
The fabric used in Levi's vintage clothing is made by Kaihara, a leading denim manufacturer in Japan.
This time we renewed the fabric. It will be made with organic cotton.
One of the reasons for adopting organic cotton is one of Levi's environmentally friendly product development, which is common to all developments.
It is a fabric that realistically reproduces the texture of the rough denim manufactured by Cone Mills at that time with high Japanese technology. The reissue model of the 1944 501 uses denim with less fuzz. Denim woven with an old-fashioned shuttle machine is characterized by a width of about 27 to 29 inches and both ends sewn with red thread (red selvedge).
As the product is made using the fabric to the fullest extent, selvedge can be seen on the outer seam and the back of the watch pocket, creating a detail called red ear. This denim retains the original unevenness of the cotton yarn, so it is one of the attractions that the unique texture increases as you wear it.
I came to do color fading more sharply than before.
silhouette
The silhouette features a deep rise, and a classic regular straight with just the right amount of room.
It is a familiar silhouette for jeans fans.
detail
The 1937 501 jeans still had the cinch back, but the waistband suspender buttons were removed.
The famous red tab is attached to the right back pocket of 501 jeans.
First introduced in 1936, the Red Tab was devised to distinguish Levi's jeans from the competition.
In response to customer complaints about rivets scratching furniture and saddles, Levi's sewed back pockets to hide the rivets.
To emphasize this, the world's first pocket flasher was also invented. The famous salmon-colored fabric sewn into the back pocket flasher featured the words “The Rivet's Still There.” with an arrow pointing to the corner of the pocket.
Grotch rivets on the crotch will be the last this year.
This is an item that carefully reproduces the fit, fabric, and details that were loved at the time, along with the culture of that era.
※Notes※
- Metal fittings such as buttons, rivets, zippers, and buckles may injure the body or other objects, so please handle with care.
- Because denim is woven on old-fashioned power looms, there may be unevenness, small scratches, or balls in the fabric. However, these are not defective products but genuine products, so please understand that we cannot accept exchanges or returns.
- Jeans may have creases. These may be creases from storage at our store, or from storage by the manufacturer, but in any case, creases from folding are not defective products but genuine products, so please understand that we cannot accept exchanges or returns.
- Denim may transfer color, so please be careful when washing and what you wear with it.
