The fabric used in LVC products is made by Kaihara, a leading Japanese denim manufacturer.
This time, the fabric has been renewed, and organic cotton has been adopted.
This fabric realistically reproduces the rugged texture of the denim manufactured by Cone Mills at the time, using advanced Japanese technology.
Woven on old-fashioned shuttle looms, this denim is approximately 27-29 inches wide and features red stitching (red selvedge) at both ends.
Because the fabric is used to its fullest extent, the selvedge is visible on the outer seams and the back of the watch pocket, creating the detail known as "red ear." This denim retains the natural unevenness of the cotton threads, and its unique texture develops with wear, which is one of its charms.
It now fades with a more pronounced contrast than previous versions.
silhouette
The silhouette is a regular straight cut, slimmer than previous generations.
With a moderately deep rise and a comfortable, relaxed fit, these jeans are simple and easy to wear.
detail
The front features four buttons, one fewer than the current model. The top button area has the reinforcing V-stitch characteristic of 501s from the 1960s and earlier.
The buttons and copper rivets bear the brand name. The watch pocket features a rivet, a feature revived after the war.
The double-needle arcuate stitching is also present. The 1947 model is characterized by its asymmetrical stitching.
It features a Big E red tab without a registered trademark. A cowhide Two Horse leather patch is used.
It features red selvedge, commonly known as "red ear." Hidden rivets are used to prevent damage to furniture and tools by covering them with fabric.
*This product is one-wash.
These jeans use the same denim and details as the raw denim 1947 model, but the sizing is different.
Please note that even if you wash and dry a 30-inch raw denim pair to shrink it, it will not become the same size as this one-wash model in 30 inches.
This product does not include a Levi's eco-bag.
