[LEVI'S VINTAGE CLOTHING "50155-0079" 501XX 1955 Model 501 JEANS (organic cotton)]
This is a reprint model of the 501, which received tremendous support as a "symbol of freedom and rebellion" among young people with a rebellious spirit in the 1950s.
It features an "anti-fit" design with room around the waist, and a straight silhouette that is thicker than other 501s of the past. In order to respond to the expanding demand, the company introduced its first two-horse patch made of paper, which is cheaper and easier to obtain than leather, to improve productivity. It is a model that stands out among the 501, with many fans for its distinctive box silhouette that is not found in other eras.
denim
The fabric used in Levi's vintage clothing is made by Kaihara, a leading denim manufacturer in Japan.
This time we renewed the fabric. It will be made with organic cotton.
One of the reasons for adopting organic cotton is one of Levi's environmentally friendly product development, which is common to all developments.
It is a fabric that realistically reproduces the texture of the rough denim manufactured by Cone Mills at that time with high Japanese technology. The reissue model of the 1944 501 uses denim with less fuzz. Denim woven with an old-fashioned shuttle machine is characterized by a width of about 27 to 29 inches and both ends sewn with red thread (red selvedge).
Since the fabric is used to the fullest extent, the selvedge can be seen on the outside seams and the back of the watch pocket, creating a detail called red ears. This denim retains the original unevenness of the cotton yarn, so it is one of the attractions that the unique texture increases as you wear it.
I came to do color fading more sharply than before.
silhouette
The silhouette is an "anti-fit" that gives a space around the waist. It features a thick straight box silhouette.
detail
501 Synonymous Button Flyfront consists of 5 zinc buttons.
The top button has a reinforcing V-stitch, which is a feature of 501 before the 1960s.
It is a button with a brand name engraved and a copper rivet with a brand name.
The watch pocket has rivets, and the front pocket is stitched in two colors. Uses copper rivets with the brand name.
Of course, the two-needle type arcuate stitch is still alive. The 1947 model features a deep arch that is symmetrical to the left and right. Big E red tabs are double-sided embroidery.
From this era, it will be a two-horse patch made of paper.
Red selvedge, commonly known as "red ears". Hidden rivets are used to prevent damage to furniture and tools by covering with fabric.
※Notes※
- Metal fittings such as buttons, rivets, zippers, and buckles may injure the body or other objects, so please handle with care.
- Because denim is woven on old-fashioned power looms, there may be unevenness, small scratches, or balls in the fabric. However, these are not defective products but genuine products, so please understand that we cannot accept exchanges or returns.
- Jeans may have creases. These may be creases from storage at our store, or from storage by the manufacturer, but in any case, creases from folding are not defective products but genuine products, so please understand that we cannot accept exchanges or returns.
- Denim may transfer color, so please be careful when washing and what you wear with it.
