LEVI'S VINTAGE CLOTHING "66501-0146" 501XX 1966 Model 501 JEANS (organic cotton)
In the 1960s, jeans, which were used as work clothes, became popular among young people as a fashion item.
It is one of the most popular models among the successive 501s due to its beautiful shape. It has a beautiful silhouette that tapers from the waist to the thighs while tapering from the knees to the hem. The combination of rare bar tack and Big E, which existed only for a short period from 1966 to 1971, is also reproduced.
How about bringing up such a legendary model of yesteryear with shrink-to-fit to make it your own?
denim
The fabric used in Levi's vintage clothing is made by Kaihara, a leading denim manufacturer in Japan.
This time we renewed the fabric. It will be made with organic cotton.
One of the reasons for adopting organic cotton is one of Levi's environmentally friendly product development, which is common to all developments.
It is a fabric that realistically reproduces the texture of the rough denim manufactured by Cone Mills at that time with high Japanese technology. The reissue of the 1966 501 uses slightly heavy ounce denim with little fuzz. Denim woven with an old-fashioned shuttle machine is characterized by a width of about 27 to 29 inches and both ends sewn with red thread (red selvedge).
As the product is made using the fabric to the fullest extent, selvedge can be seen on the outer seam and the back of the watch pocket, creating a detail called red ear. This denim retains the original unevenness of the cotton yarn, so it is one of the attractions that the unique texture increases as you wear it.
I came to do color fading more sharply than before. silhouette
Relaxed fit from waist to thigh. A tapered silhouette that tapers toward the hem.
The silhouette is not too thick and not thin.
detail
It becomes the front of the pronoun button fly of 501. It consists of four buttons, one less than the current model.
I use the button of the brand name carved seal. Two-tone stitching around the front pocket and the watch pocket with rivets.
I adopt a copper rivet with a brand name. The back pocket features a square shape and arched stitching with shallow arches.
The big E red tab is embroidered on both sides. Two-horse patch made of paper. The back pocket has become a bar tack specification that can be reinforced without using rivets.
*According to the manufacturer's announcement, shrinkage of about 5 cm in the waist and about 8 cm in the inseam will occur.
