The only operating loop-knit machine in the world, an old-fashioned machine that knits fabric into a cylindrical shape.
Until the 1960s, cut-and-sewn garments made on this loop-knit machine were mainstream worldwide, but the production efficiency of about one meter per hour was gradually pushed by the wave of mass production and mass consumption, and the technology gradually became outdated.
However, as can be seen from the fact that T-shirts and sweatshirts from before the 1960s still maintain their high quality as vintage items, cut-and-sewn garments made on loop-knit machines have a unique texture that cannot be produced by the latest high-speed sinkers, and an overwhelming toughness that can transcend time.
In recent years, its value has been reevaluated, and like selvedge denim, loop-knit is recognized as the highest quality fabric in the world.
Ishikawadai is the oldest operating machine in Japan.
Ishikawadai was manufactured by Ishikawa Seisakusho Co., Ltd. in 1953 and is the oldest ring spinning machine still in operation in Japan.
Because it spins the yarn slowly, it puts less strain on the cotton and preserves the cotton's natural soft texture, creating an uneven feel that is almost like hand-spun yarn.
The yarn used is 100% Texas cotton grown in the rich natural environment of Texas.

The hanging machine knits slowly without applying unnecessary tension to the yarn.
Even after knitting is finished, the fabric is stored under the knitting machine, so it can be knitted without compromising the cotton's natural texture.
