[STUDIO D'ARTISAN "D1903" ISHIKAWADAI WW2 JEANS]
"Ishikawadai" is the oldest Japanese ring spinning machine currently in operation, manufactured by Ishikawa Seisakusho Co., Ltd. in 1953.
The manufacturer has no records, and it is thought to be the oldest spinning machine currently in operation in Japan.
Compared to the latest ring spinning machines, it is only able to spin at a slow speed, about one-third the speed, so it is not very productive.
However, because it puts less strain on the cotton, it takes advantage of the cotton's natural soft texture and creates an uneven texture that is like hand-spun cotton, with a natural look that cannot be reproduced by computer.
The indigo dyeing of the warp threads does not damage the unique texture of this cotton, and the usual thread refining process is omitted, and the indigo dyeing is made uneven, like the vintage denim of the time.

In order to focus on supplies for World War II, jeans and denim jackets from this time were strictly limited and each part was simplified, with no choice but to limit unnecessary parts.
In addition, veteran seamstresses focused on producing military uniforms, while jeans and other workwear were produced by less skilled seamstresses.
D'artisan recreates the awkward stitching and simplified details of the 1940s era and uses original 13.0oz denim fabric spun in Ishikawadai.
After sewing, a beige color is applied as a topping to express the rugged, rough denim fabric of the time and the dull, oxidized indigo blue atmosphere.
