America in the 1940s. Jeans and denim jackets from this time were strictly limited and simplified to focus on materials for use in World War II. In addition, veteran seamstresses focused on manufacturing military uniforms, while jeans and other workwear were manufactured by less skilled seamstresses.
Due to material restrictions at the time, the number of front buttons has been reduced from five to four, which is a characteristic of the wartime models.
Other features of the wartime models include a single pocket without a flap and a cinch back, which are faithful to the details of the time.
In addition, the back side of all sizes is a T-back design.
D'Artisan reproduces the awkward stitching and simplified details of the 1940s based on the historical background, and uses 13oz original denim fabric spun at Ishikawadai.
Ishikawadai is said to be the oldest spinning machine in Japan. Compared to the latest spinning machines, Ishikawadai spins at about one-third the speed.
Although the production efficiency is low, it puts less stress on the cotton and has a natural texture that is almost like hand-spun fabric.
After sewing, a beige color is added to express the rugged and rough denim fabric of the time and the dull and oxidized indigo blue atmosphere.
