SUGAR CANE Super "Denim" Collectibles
SUGAR CANE Super "Denim" Collectibles is a new label launched by Sugar Cane's Yuichi Fukutomi, who has gathered denim specialists.
Commonly known as "SCSC". This time, we have welcomed Shigeki Wakiya, one of the world's leading vintage denim collectors, to perfectly reproduce the "individuality" of these precious items based on super vintage deadstock and golden sizes that are now so valuable that they can hardly be obtained.
In the first collection, we generously present four super vintage items from the "war model," which is currently attracting the most attention in the vintage market.
Because they are based on deadstock vintage items that have not even been washed, we have been able to analyze in more detail than ever before the oxidized indigo color with remaining glue, and the spinning of the warp and weft threads used, and the fabric has a finish that is indistinguishable from vintage at a glance.
The parts are made to have the texture that has changed over time in the deadstock state. For the first time in this project, we have adopted two-needle iron buckles, which have been avoided for safety reasons. As for the sewing, we have reproduced the distorted stitch work with uneven width, as well as the thread count and sewing machine pitch.
Denim / Details
At first glance, it looks like a 1937 model, but it is a very rare early 1942 model with the notation "Copyright 1942" at the bottom of the flasher.
It was produced only for a short period from April to August 1942, and the back straps and crotch rivets have not yet been omitted.
While the 1937 model used crushed heads of regular copper rivets for the concealed rivets, this model uses special iron rivets.
With this change, the Flasher's "CONCEALED COPPER RIVETS" was changed to "CONCEALED POCKET RIVETS".
The denim fabric is clearly different in thickness and unevenness from the 1937 model, and the black-plated iron buckle that is only found on this model is made exclusively for this model.
The tucks on the back of the buttons are copper-plated.
Silhouette
The rise is deep and the silhouette is thick. It has a thick silhouette like the 1937 model and the war model.

Made in Japan, this selvedge denim is based on denim from 1942 and woven on an old-fashioned power loom. You can enjoy the deep indigo texture and fading that is characteristic of this era. The buttons and rivets are of course original, and cotton thread is used for sewing. The leather patch is made of deerskin, so you can enjoy the overall aging process.
