SUGAR CANE Super "Denim" Collectibles
SUGAR CANE Super "Denim" Collectibles is a new label launched by Sugar Cane's Yuichi Fukutomi, who has gathered denim specialists.
Commonly known as "SCSC". This time, we have welcomed Shigeki Wakiya, one of the world's leading vintage denim collectors, to perfectly reproduce the "individuality" of these precious items based on super vintage deadstock and golden sizes that are now so valuable that they can hardly be obtained.
In the first collection, we generously present four super vintage items from the "war model," which is currently attracting the most attention in the vintage market.
Because they are based on deadstock vintage items that have not even been washed, we have been able to analyze in more detail than ever before the oxidized indigo color with remaining glue, and the spinning of the warp and weft threads used, and the fabric has a finish that is indistinguishable from vintage at a glance.
The parts are made to have the texture that has changed over time in the deadstock state. For the first time in this project, we have adopted two-needle iron buckles, which have been avoided for safety reasons. As for the sewing, we have reproduced the distorted stitch work with uneven width, as well as the thread count and sewing machine pitch.
Denim / Details
Founded in 1975, Sugar Cane, celebrating its 50th anniversary, has returned to its roots and released a new "Made in U.S.A." wartime model, with production based in the United States, the birthplace of denim workwear.
The denim fabric is produced in Japan, based on the 1943 model and using American cotton to recreate the rough, uneven texture resulting from the immature spinning technology of the time.
Sewing is done at Sugar Cane's American factory. Instead of simply replicating a vintage piece, this 1940s special model combines the characteristics of various wartime garments identified so far, incorporating original elements into the patterns, parts, and stitching details.
Particularly noteworthy is the pocket lining.
The twill check lining from a vintage jacket produced by ROUGH WEAR under their civilian label "ROUGH-IN" during the 1940s wartime period has been reproduced and used as a flannel pocket lining.

Abbreviated as "SCSC," the 1st and 2nd collections recreated the "individuality" of rare deadstock super vintage jeans, which are now virtually impossible to obtain.
They revived not only the distinctive parts of the time, but also all four types of denim fabric produced during the war.
For this 3rd collection, to commemorate the brand's 50th anniversary, they planned jeans that are now rare "Made in U.S.A." at Sugar Cane's American factory.
Combining the attractive details of vintage pieces seen during the war, they have created a special model with original elements.
Silhouette
The rise is high and the silhouette is wide. It has a silhouette typical of wartime models, but it's not excessively wide.
