This piece was made by "National," a chain store that sold resort wear throughout the United States.
As the number of tourists to Hawaii increased dramatically, aloha shirts became popular as gift items.
The boom spread to the mainland of the United States and accelerated even further.
Also, when aloha shirts began to be worn for golf, the designs on the shirts also changed.
Works began to be produced with calm colors and small motifs that did not have too much impact.
This work was made in the mid-1950s, and the material is rayon habutae (filament rayon).
The print is drawn with discharge printing, and an all-over pattern is used.
This item is a fusion of old American 50's style details and a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere.
