[TCB jeans "Cathartt Chore Coat"]
When starting a new project at TCB, it often starts with an encounter with a vintage item, but this time we started without finding a perfect source for sampling. What I have is a heart button. And a pair of MASTER CLOTH overalls from the same era. That's where it all began.
I came up with the word Cathartt a few years ago, and the heart button, fabric and MASTER CLOTH name were inspired by vintage overalls.
The warp threads are #7, and the weft is #16, which is thinner and the number of threads is slightly lower, for a natural unevenness that is not too obvious. By making the weft thinner than the warp threads, the unevenness of the warp threads is clearly visible, so even with 10oz 2x1 denim, the fabric has a strong vertical fading.
The color is 100% synthetic indigo with no additives. The number of dyeings is also less than that of XX DENIM from the 1920s, so the color is bright.
It is a little softer than the fabric of TCB's Tabby's Jacket, and the blue color is closer. The twill weave is easy to see for a 2x1, and the unevenness of the warp threads can be seen with the naked eye, so you can expect a rough, vintage-like color fading compared to the Black Cat Jacket and Tabby's Jacket.
The base of the CHORE COAT is a vintage Carhartt from the 1940s-50s.
While using the silhouette of the CHORE COAT as a base, we have created a 1920s atmosphere by referring to various materials to match the MASTER CLOTH name and heart buttons with historical accuracy.
The details are full of TCB's attention to detail, such as a square collar with a tear in the middle, change buttons attached with eyelets, adjustable first button and cuffs, set-in sleeves, and a low sleeve cap that is also reproduced in the TWO CATS BLOUSE.
The silhouette is slightly loose. It is easy to wear and easy to match with various fashions.
*Both the front buttons and cufflinks are changeable buttons.
They are less durable than regular buttons, so we recommend removing the buttons before washing.
In the event of damage or loss, we have replacement buttons in stock but will arrange for them at an additional charge.
