[TCB jeans "Cathartt Traveller Coat" 9oz Denim Coat ]

Traveler coat from TCB Jeans.
The sleeves that swing forward with a tailored collar are folded and sewn, and the box pocket inside the waist pocket is tailored.
Taking this as a reference, TCB's Cathartt Traveler Coat has a double-layered UNCLESAM chest pocket, fold-down armholes with set-in rolled chain stitching to give a work feel, and resin buttons. I decided to make heart buttons that were made from the heart-shaped tuck buttons that were attached to Carhartt painter's pants from 100 years ago.

The box pockets on the sides are the same as the vintage coat used as reference. The crescent-shaped pocket when viewed from the back is artistic, and is convenient for accessing the pockets of pants when wearing coat length. The appeal of this era is that manufacturing is done from the workers' perspective.

Regarding the fabric, the fabric I used this time is a bit looser from the concept of reproduction and I tried something new.
Levis' XX Denim uses shrink-to-fit gray fabric, so many people may have the impression that old denim = shrink. However, in the 1930s, a shrink-proofing technique called sanforized had already been developed, and the name of the coveralls actually says sanforized and is sold as not shrinking.
As a manufacturer, we find the fading power of gray denim more attractive than preshrunk fabrics. So, for this Cathartt Coat, I decided to use the fabric as it was woven on a power loom without preshrunk treatment.

The 9oz 2 x 1 fabric, with warp #10 and weft #12, starts out quiet but gradually becomes rougher.
Like the jeans, the coat is twisted slightly to the right. I don't choose fabrics like this when I use vintage as a reference, but this time I decided to play with it since the vintage I used as reference was chinos.

The details are an asymmetrical design seen in the 1920s and 1930s. This design is commonly known as Gacha Poke at second-hand clothing stores.
Also, the texture of the fabric gives it an elegant feel, but when you look at the center vent on the back (lower notch in the center of the back), you can see that the edge of the fabric has not been neatly processed and is left uncut. is. Vintage has the same specifications, so TCB uses the same processing.
The silhouette is a little loose-fitting. The silhouette is easy to wear and goes well with a variety of fashion styles.
