These shorts were created by taking inspiration from vintage work pants and adding some modifications. The outer fabric is sulfur-dyed duck canvas, which will fade with washing, increasing its vintage feel. The fading characteristic of indigo is a key feature. The denim is made using yarn produced on the Ishikawa-dai, the oldest existing spinning machine in Japan, and the fabric is woven using yarn that has a texture closer to hand-spun silk. This denim shorts employ a method that emphasizes the use of yarn on the power loom. The front pockets are shaped to allow easy access from above, and the shorts incorporate workwear elements such as asymmetrical back pockets with flaps on only one side, reinforced fabric applied from the inside, and triple-needle stitching with thick thread.
