Lot 403 is one of WAREHOUSE's signature sweatshirts.
It's a meticulously made in Japan sweatshirt.
This is a classic loopwheel knit sweatshirt whose specifications have remained unchanged for over 20 years.
The coarse lock thread visible between the two stitches is a detail typically found in vintage items, but we've made it possible by improving our sewing machine.
The fleece lining, formerly known as cotton fleece lining, is recreated by brushing the fabric while it's still in its tubular form.
We use a loopwheel knitting machine, which is ideal for recreating the texture of vintage clothing.
Fabric knitted on a loopwheel knitting machine falls to the ground after knitting, so there's no strain on the fabric when it's wound up, allowing air to enter the knitting.
As a result, the fabric itself stretches significantly with washing and drying, but it also has a unique, soft, skin-hugging texture that can't be achieved with other knitting machines.
WAREHOUSE sweatshirts are made on loopwheel knitting machines, of which there are only a few left in operation worldwide, resulting in a fleshy yet fluffy and soft finish.
