[Dead Stock Blue (WARE HOUSE) "Lot.S2001XX" 1946Model DENIM JACKET WW2 Type]
This time we will introduce a Type 1 jacket that reproduces the 1946 model.
This is a rare gem that shows the background of the turbulent postwar period when manufacturing was not stable.
For example, the model has no front pocket flap, which is a strong remnant of the wartime model, but it has five front fly buttons and donut buttons with laurel leaves.
The pocket rivets are engraved, but the cinch back rivets are plain, making this a hybrid model.
The name tag is a red rayon tab with lines on the top and bottom, and is a one-sided type with text, which also shows the remnants of the transition period from the wartime model.
The 6.7 x 6.6 pink selvedge WWII wartime denim is about 14 oz. thicker than Warehouse's signature 13.5 oz. banner denim, and reproduces the texture of deadstock that has been washed.
The touch of the sewing method and other touches also enhance the atmosphere of this model. The two-tone stitching, red tabs on one side, rivets, button back, etc., are just as you would expect, recreating the details of the transitional 1946 model.
At a glance, it is obvious that it does not have a flap pocket. What is strange about it is the large number of buttons.
The original wartime model without a flap has four tuck buttons and the shoulder yoke is also wide down to the bottom, but this model has returned to the conventional five buttons while keeping the size the same. On the other hand, the pockets do not have flaps, making it a rare item. This was probably also made around 1946, and it is thought that it should have had a flap pocket.
The silhouette is an authentic style similar to the DD-S2001XX NEW DENIM (WW II MODEL) of the DD series.
The width and armholes are moderately loose, so it can be matched with any style, such as T-shirts and sweatshirts.
