Denim using American apland cotton. Apland cotton is extremely basic cotton with a fiber length of about 27.8-28.6 mm. Even with the same US cotton, the difference in length is obvious when compared to the super long cotton of 36.2 mm.
With the progress of varieties of cotton, the standard fiber length of the fiber market is generally longer by about a few millimeters than cotton 50 years ago. On the other hand, it is said that the quality of agricultural crops depends on the environment, no matter how much variety is improved.
Therefore, we chose American apland cotton to maximize the basics. This is imported into Japan, and the shape of the uneven yarn found in vintage jeans is scanned to determine the yarn shape. This is also controlled so that it is not too strong.
Rope dye the finished thread. Pure indigo dyeing without under-dying or post-dying. Of course, to dye a thread, there are "what number", the color number, and the spec. However, the finished color differs slightly depending on the cotton itself. This time, the characteristic of the color is that it has relatively little redness and strong blueness.
In addition, the woven fabric is a power loom with Mimi. Weaving with low tension gives a soft texture and prevents the threads and even the original character of cotton from being erased. The finished fabric is Kibata denim that is not shrink-proofed or fluffed to remove fluff. The feature is that it shrinks and twists when washed, but before shipping from the manufacturer, it is shrunk as much as possible with a one wash / dryer before sending it out.
The silhouette is an XX type straight with some space. The hem width is the same at about 10 cm from the hem, so the hem width does not change even if you hem up to about 30 inches in length. All sewing is cotton thread. The side is split, the so-called "small crotch" that matches the left and right bodies, the yoke, and the obi are made of thick yarn. It is a specification for strength with cotton thread, but as a result, it produces a rugged Atari of Selvedge and a strong puckering of the yoke.
